Gulf BPG / Abu Dhabi Customs IP Workshop for Third-Party Companies

In cooperation with Abu Dhabi Customs, Gulf BPG organized a specialized workshop for third-party and shipping companies, focusing on intellectual property (IP) protection and recent IP law updates in the UAE.

The session highlighted the latest developments in the UAE IP legal framework, key enforcement challenges, and practical issues faced in cross-border trade and logistics. Particular emphasis was placed on the critical role of third-party service providers and shipping companies in supporting IP enforcement efforts, including early detection of infringing goods, cooperation with customs authorities, and effective reporting mechanisms.

The workshop was delivered by Malek Hannouf, Chairman of Gulf BPG, who provided in-depth insights into IP risks in the supply chain and shared best practices for logistics stakeholders to actively safeguard intellectual property rights and strengthen collaboration with enforcement authorities.
