SUMMARY:The First Copyright Collective Management Organization (ERRA)
DESCRIPTION:Gulf BPG celebrated the launch of the region’s first Copyright Collective Management Organization ERRA – The Emirates Reprographic Rights Association in the presence of the Minister of Economy H.E. Abdullah Bin Touak and the Minister of Culture and Youth H.E\, Noura Al Kaabi. A huge congratulations to H.E. Shaikha Bodour Al Qasimi\, President of the International Publishers Association – IPA for leading this project and making the dream a reality. \nThe UAE has once again proved its leadership by example in securing an environment for authors and publishers to keep creating and sharing their works while being assured that their rights are respected\, protected\, shared\, and remunerated. All the necessary ingredients for a thriving creative economy. \nERRA will be part of The International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organizations (IFRRO). An MoU was signed between ERRA and US Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) to support the procedures and training.
